I got under the rig & the fuel tank that has a crack in it is definetly plastic. I cleaned real good around the crack & patched it with JB Weld. We'll see if it holds.
The fuel lines from both tanks goe into 2 small canisters & the into a selenoid looking thing that has 1 wire plugged into it. From that selenoid, 1 fuel line goes to the mechanical fuel pump. I guess that thing is a fuel tank switching valve but I don't know how to get it to switch. The broken toggle switch that was on the dash had 3 wires going to it. The person I bought the rig from said this was for switching tanks. The Champions service manual shows 4 wires going to the toggle. Of my 3 wires, 1 has current going to it when I turn the key on. The other 2 do not. I don't know how this selenoid works or how I need to wire a toggle to get it to work. My rig is a 1979 Dodge Concord made by Champions.
