I am a woman and my friend is helping me replace the radiator on a 1989 Winnebago Elandan, P30 chasy. IT has a 454 engine. I just had the water pump and fan clutch replaced at a chevy dealer and they wanted another $2100 to replace the radiator. We have taken sooo many items off to get the radiator out. We have been working on it for a week now and still do not have it out. It is still in the frame and the power stiring resevoir is in the way. The frame is more narrow than the radiator itself and is welded in. We can not lift the radiator up enough to clear the bolts on the bottom for removal. Can you offer any advice? I only have 2 weeks to get it repaired! Thanks, Tori

Tori, Welcome to the site. I've removed the radiator from my P30 in our Airstream 345 before which has a large removable grill. If I remember correctly, the radiator itself sits in a radiator support which is bolted to the bottom frame member. This support splits in the middle (halfway up each side) by removing two bolts on either site. Once the top support is out, if everything else is disconnected you should be able to slide the radiator out the front opening (rather than down or up through the doghouse) Things that made this easier for me: 1. remove the fan and clutch assembly 2. remove the grill and nose (as much as possible) to facilitate access 3. remove all of the hard lines (oil cooler, tranny cooler) from the back of the radiator very carefully so you don't pinch the tubing.

This may work. A fellow on anther forum "PeterH" took his radiator out by pulling it stright down and out the bottom. If I remerber corectly be had to find a place where the terrain help get the required height, jacks stands were not high enougth. Good luck....Bill
