Over time the soil spring will loose efficiency.
This will cause the front end to “float” while driving down the road. This article outlines replacement of the front coil springs and airbags on the P30 Motorhome Chassis
Precautions:
Ensure the rig is parked level or near level, rear wheels chocked.
Ensure you have adequately rated jack stands, minimum of three.
Upon removal of the lower ball joint, the lower control arm must be braced to prevent the installed spring from “launching”.
“Snug Tight” is to tighten with reasonable force with the correct size wrench.
It is recommended to have a “floor” jack and hydraulic jack.
Instructions:
Jack up and support one side of the rig.
Remove the tire, store fasteners back on the hub or in a container to prevent misplacement.

Remove the Lower shock absorber mounting bolt.
Detach the stabilizer bar from the lower control arm.
Place floor jack under the lower control arm..
(As a safety precaution you could installs a chain through the spring and lower control arm)
Raise the jack, this will remove the tension on the lower control arm.
Support the break assembly with a jack stand or hydraulic jack.
Remove the Lower ball Joint retaining cotter pin.
USE EXTERRM CAUTION TO PERFORM THE FOLLOWING:
Loosen the Lower ball Joint retaining nut and back off a few threads. With a 1” diameter brass rod, 4’ to 6” long, rap the top of the Lower ball Joint with a 2 pound hammer to break it free from the taper lock.
Remove the Lower ball joint nut, clean and store.

Support the break assembly to prevent this from lowering with the control arm.
Lower the control arm SLOWLY and remove the spring from the housing.

Clean and inspect the area. Remove the safety chain if required.
Inspect the lower ball joint for wear by moving it around in the assemble, look for less than 1/8 inch off play. Replace as required.
Verify orientation of the spring (which end is up) and install the Air Bag into the new spring, ENSURE the Schrader valve is facing down.

Install the spring into the housing assembly and slowly jack the lower control arm up. Line up the Lower ball joint as you progress.
USE EXTREEM CAUTION AS THIS MAY LIFT THE RIG FROM THE JACK STAND.
Install the retaining nut, tighten snug tight, ENSURE to realign the cotter pin hole, adjust as necessary. DO NOT OVER OR UNDER TIGHTEN THIS NUT.
Install the Lower shock absorber and mounting fastener(s) snug tight.

Install the Tire/Rim. Torque fasteners evenly in a star pattern to 90 Ft. Lbs.
Verify torque in a clock wise pattern until no movement is observed.
