Cooperhawk My Dad was born and raised in Kenora Ont. We heard all the stories of the weather in that part of the world. We lived in northern Ont. and then around the banana belt in Toronto. My first lesson in life was eight below and forty mile an hour wind are freaking cold no matter where you live. The second was bigger girls need love too and come in darned handy on cold nights. I would guess the ladies would say that about those gentlemen of generous size such as myself. Roadhazard Am I wrong in thinking that your winters are like ours, kind of short and sharp 4to6 week long? We get that much cold and a whole lot of rain the rest of the time.I live 30 miles south of Vancouver B.C., twenty min. from the border. I would have liked to have gone to Quartzsite myself but as usual the cards didn't come up. Wallaby Dan Much better moniker than Capt. Dan.Warmer and more fuzzy.I lived in the U.S. for 24 years and found out just how many of our age group were in Vietnam. In Canada all we knew about it came from the guys dodging it.Seemed every guy I met was over there if he could stand upright. One of my best friends moved to N.H. as a child and when he signed up, he signed off as a Canadian citizen so he could go.He signed up for a second tour and is now being treated for stress. My cousin did the same thing, but twenty years later couldn't take it any more and cashed his chips in. They turned me down in Canada for health reasons. The closest I got was when an old boss of mine said he didn't know if I was a Major f**k up or a General Disaster. Hang in so you can prove the world wrong.I find it really messes them up. That folks is probly more of Steves thoughts than you were ready for so I'll stop. |

Yep, I hope so. That day is a blank but the police almost shot me as I had the gun and wasn't sure what i was planning to do. I don't have the gun anymore and today I want to live. Tomorrow i could cash my chips in too but don't so. I hate this depression I am in. I 'should' be working on the home and instead I am in my bed and typing. Like i said. I see the head doctor again Thursday. I am at the top dose on one of my meds and still trying to get used to the other med. It makes me feel kinda dopey and don't have much get up and go. I am not like drunk but have some of the similar feelings sometimes. That's where I am right now. The weather is another thing i need a break on with the weather so I can get something done. The trailer is done and the trooper is to. This buggy is another story. If i can get better weather and felt better i could tear up the kitchen and rebuild it and finish the outside too!! Outside is some light body work and paint the stripes and need to do a little welding and the brakes are another thing. Gonna want to get two new clippers and pads and rubber lines and a master cylinder. And bleed the brakes and then that will be finished. That and a good cleaning and wax would really make it look like new!! Catch you later its dinner time, Dan |

I may not always chirp in as often as I would like, But I do try to keep up on the latest posts. I reside in St. George Utah and I live full time in my motorhome. I am trying to get to a point where I can get some pictures up so i can post them so all can see. It may be an old Ford Automate, but it's mine and it's paid for.I have it almost completed in the restoration and repair, just a little cosmetics now and she will be finished. But I really do not like working on the skin in the rain so it will just have to wait a little.I will post some pics as soon as the weather will permit and work ofcourse. You all have my best regards.....John |

Dan Don't know if the meds. aren.t worse at times.Been through that time to time.To many Scots and English in the family. What a sour bunch on both sides.I got through it by taking one problem at a time and solving it. Not a cure for every one I know but it seems to work.Seems to me if I can look back at the end of every day a be satisfied with what I did, nobody can take it away. Can't see whats wrong with sitting and typing.Your not doing it a cubicle somewhere for people who don't care. You have a plan and time always seems to make way to let you do it. My thought is if you hold in and as hard as it is, you prove every one wrong you will always be the victor. Now if the road wasn't paved with 2in. nails and my ass wasn't 1in. of the ground life would be perfect!Yep and while we're at it can I have rich, younger, and a whole lot better looking. Steve. |

Scoutpi1 Chirp in as often as you like I'm sure. Can't speak for everyone else but glad to have you aboard. Got to say this is the greatest bunch of people I've never met. Never heard of a Ford Automate. What year is it?Have you ever seen those bright young lads who have a window sticker that says I'd rather push a ---- than drive a------.I'd rather put my tired old self in a Fiat than walk. No need to say you only have a what ever. What all have you done to it and are parts hard to find.Looking at Toyotas because of the gas but really want a class A for the size so I can full time in something bigger than a shoe box. Stay in touch. Steve. |

Yep, Went to see my doctor and he is making a change in my meds and regular Blood draws to make sure that it is working right. PTSD and BI-Polar Manic Depression both are very simular and they haven't made up there minds yet. Funny..The meds are the same for both so I guess it really make much of a difference. Now if it would work. Seems like everything I touch...Breaks...I am waiting for the computer to crash any old time now!! Tools are not a good thing for me to have around right now. See above for why....Sorry about bumming you out with My stuff but sometimes I really feel all alone and there is no help or cure for this. It is no fun and on top of it Its Christmas time and I .....Just can't seem to find any christmas spirit! I will catch up with you all later, dan

Dan--Stay in touch. My pal in N.Y. that I roomed with was Bi Polar. As he put it,life was like an elevator. You could never get to the top floor and you couldn't get off to find out why.He was a vet on top of it. Don't they love thier blood draws. They would change Marty's meds like they were playing checkers .One move at a time. Took a while[long]but now if he stays away from drinking he is doing wonderfully well. Yes,fast moving blades are not a good thing at the moment. You are not alone and there is help, just try not to get to down about it as hard as that is. Steve |

It's a 1978,I bought it for $1,500.00 last sept. and so far I have replaced the refridgerator,mastercylinder/vacuum chamber. Replaced some of the missing marker lights, put a new muffler on the generator.Recoated and sealed the roof(twice) I had to put a new escape hatch over the master bed and a new lid over the shower. A lot of little (fix the hillbilly engineering)repairs but other than that it's in fairly good shape. It's the 25 1/2' model class C of which I live in full time since the Beloved and I seperated. I would really love to some day have a 32' Class A but it will just have to wait till the finances will allow. I know what you mean about a whatever. I had never heard of automate, but I have one.Yes I will try to get pictures up and posted as soon as I can. thank you for your response, at least someone cares.......John |

John--If anyone can touch base on the former beloved I can. Didn't live up to my mother in laws hopes. Don't you just love the good enough repairs people do on motor homes. An hour more time and the job could be done properly and perfect.Had a really great little camping trailer about 11yrs.ago and it needed a little wood repair. In the end all I had was 2 wheels and a floor with the cupboards sitting on it. Remade the frame, put it back up, put the skin back on it and sold it to a friend of mine for $400 in the fall when I stopped living in it.I've done 4 like that but no more. If you look back in the files on this site,2 months ,or a little less you will see photos of a trailer one of the people who look after this site took on.He and his wife should be given hero of the year awards. Take the time to look back and find it if you have time.It was a classic aluminum one. Some one said the refriderators quit because if they don't run all the time the gas inside doesn't stay up in the pipes and tends to leak out or words to that effect. Steve. |

Well That elevator just took a fast trip down .. I don't know what floor but it was a long crash. its funny how things are fine for a few days and yesterday I was On a High..I think i should have taken a Parachute with me as this morning I have been in bed all day with the blankets and have Royal case of Blahsss !!!! This computer is my real only link here at home.If it doesn't get better I will have to go to the hospital. Hell of a place to spend over the holidays!! I am trying to keep my chin up for Debbie but it isn't easy....Looks like it may be time to reseal my front clearance lights and where the cap meets the windshield. I have two different tubes of caulk one is Latex and silicone I don't remember why I got them, just know i do...Maybe someone will know. I have alreadygot it ready to go but need to get some help with weather to get up there and seal it. Thanks again, Dan |

Dan-- You know what goes up must eventually come down.Sucks when your under it. Takes a while for the meds to work. Dont use silicone to seal joints in your motor home.It isn't made to with stand movement and will break down from the weather.Try and find Polyurethane caulk instead.PL100 or Vulkem. Got pals in the boat and M.H. industry and that is what they say.Make sure you clean any silicon off the suface of what you are sealing. May have to sand it off but put tape down first so it doesn't scratch the paint you want to save. If you don't it won't stick. They said to try boat/MH or hardware stores to get it. If the leak is around the window get a new window rubber put in.Had a shop beside a glass shop one time and found out that sealer does not work and the guy trying to get the window out will not be your friend when he is making up the bill. Might be a case of get even. Any body wants to get ahold of me it's old.steve@hotmail.com Yep old steve.I've joined the All Bran generation Steve. |
