Dan- Just saw your photo. That is more than enough snow for any one person.Maybe more than enough. Did a little bit with trains when I was younger but I always loved rocketry.Didn't get to do as much as I wanted but it was kind of in its very early stages and there weren't many people doing it. Tried to get my high school to do it and they did the year after I left. Went to the doctor to day and he is going to replace my knee in 9 days. Was standing on a side street in 1965 and another kid hit me in his dads new VW,put me 20ft. down the road and my brother hit me as I came down.He was driving a car I had just bought. It was a no one could survive, accident. My head had 62 stiches in it and still has some dents . My knees have just worn out over the years from the time and the car damage. Puts a screw in my m h plans for at least 6 months.Doc said nothing but recovery time. My nephew is taking his pre afghanistan training for 4 months and then he goes over in Sept. They were told that thier time will be extended since Canada is planing a troop surge for a spring offensive. His buddy is going over with him for his 2nd tour. My nephew is a radio telephoe operator in the signal corp. My niece has a friend who joined the U.S. army for the school benifits just as they went into Iraq.He is doing his second tour also.He is Canadian and his Mom is American so he was able to get in that way. They never seem to miss a generation. Stay in touch. Steve. |

It has been a strange week.Saw probation as part of the system start-up and they are saying that because of our finances we should escape the fine but may have to pay court costs. Deb got a paper to have a eval with ssi's doctor so I will see how this will work out. Pretty much put everything on a holding pattern. I see the doctor again on the 19th and then we go to court on the 26th. I had started the kitchen redo but got put on hold as the temps and rain or snow have been messing up my plans and they said they were not goiing to try any surgery. That means they gave me a stronger one. Methadone 5mg twice a day. They had x-rays for my shoulder and elbow to see what gives there. About 18 years ago They put in a new shoulder joint and I think it is going bad from the work I have been doing. Anyway thats about it for a week of nothing....have a good one and hope that knee works out ok!! Later, Dan

Thanks Dan.Not looking forward to it but it will be the first time the pain will be gone in better than 40 years. Hope everything works out with S.S.I. I know they have to keep an eye on people trying to use it but a lot of people who need it get cut of in the rush. They said mine should kick in the end of March. Trust your court date goes well. Been called upon myself to explain my actions and I always did to my satisfaction. Never could figure out why black and white robes seem to turn a nice person nasty as soon as they put them on. Keep in touch.May not answer for a while but I'll be watching. Steve. |

Well, Its been a few. I have been doing some of the work in the kitchen and am ready to paint the walls but one wall as it needs a primer. I will do that tomorrow. I am also making the side baggage door stronger as the baggage doors had only a cardboard with vinyl covering. I am using 1/4" plywood for it and that should make it stronger. When Our next checks come in on the 3rd. I am getting the wood for the kitchen and a piece of plywood for the new range and Micro/convection oven. The foam is 1 inch and 4X8. Thats gonna be the main board for my layout. The layout will be in the sidebox I am cleaning out. The stuff for the kitchen was or has been in that sidebox. It will now be my railroad layout. Final size will be 30X361/2"! Using N scale. I remember back at a FMCA convection several years ago there was a diesel pusher that the owner had did that with a sidebox and the layout would slide-out. Mine will slideout as well. Now if I could find the train sounds that he had when he was backing and getting into his space. It was Steam engine for sure!! I thought it was so neat. :hehe::) Anyway I have about 4 good days with temps in the upper 70's so I want to try and get as much as I can get done. Later, Dan Mom's Ruin, Hope things are getting better!!!

Thanks Dan. First day back at the computer and only for short bursts. Everything went a lot better than I would have dreamed of.Pain is gone except for my knee of course and that is not really bad. Seems strange to think that my knee is not mine but stainless steel and nylon. I heard of wait times up to 2 years and then down to 6-9 months and then when the Doctor looked at it,he said 9 days. Really was a whirl wind. End of May I,ll start looking for a motor home because working on it will be possible then. Steve. |

Well You have read what to look for and what to check and all before you plunk down the cash. As for your knee I have a rotator cuff that is probably is in need of replacement. They won't do anything to help out except try pills. The set of first set of new pain pills almost killed me !! The doctor said that my BP was 50/30 and I found out that my kidneys were shutting down!! So I get off there and they gave me another pair and i started up and stated again. so I checked with wally world and she told me too take those two out of my list and do like make it slowly and in stages and get rid of them. I am almost at the point where I will be at a half pill . and falling down and knocking myself down!!! I have started the rebuild of the kitchen and i have to take deb down to one of her appointments. but i want to get into it Friday and Saturday and I will have deb take shots so I will post them after i quit. If i can get the kitchen done so all the new appliances are installed I will have two cabinets one in the kitchen and one in our bedroom. Its coming together. Hope you find what you want in good shape and maybe partially rebuild. Later Dan:D |

Dan. It's hard to believe that someone would give you pills and not watch you. I have a friend who was a pharmacist and after 30 years he quit because every day he had at least one doctor who gave a person pills that would interact and possibly kill them. When he called the doc. to tell them he would get a blast that they were the doctor and he was just a pill pusher. Hope things are going well for you and Deb.Shoulder problems are Hell because you use your arms so much. I'm waiting for some folks to get back the end of May who have a 1972 Discoverer25.They look like the Discovery space shuttle. The guy who designed the 63-67 Stingray did them. The white truck company built them on a Dodge frame. One owner and mint.$5,000 CDN. They are super fussy about who gets it .They both worked on the shuttle as electrical engineers and this is thier baby. If I can't get it I'll find a good body ect.and my Bro.the house rehabber and I will redo the interior. I've converted 3 buses and though it's not my favorite thing to do, I'll have what I want. Steve. |

That must look neat!! Take and post a shot or two even though you may not get it. Ok, I am off the Methadone as of today. I kept half'in my amount and am off but am still having shakes so i bumped up the 10 mg of Valium to 20 today to help me to do work in the kitchen. It is still working and I still have one other to start and that is in a couple of days if I don't have too many issues. I have done some of the work i the kitchen and am painting the upper cabinets and "sponging" the walls!! There are a few pictures on the picasa site Under Kitchen 2. Otherwise i am doing ok, I have my probation switched to Pinal county Thursday!! That way I can walk too him and back!! Trying to get the doctors to get there ducks in a row is like pulling eye teeth!!! $ of 5 weekdays was deb this week i got weds. and friday!! Its over 100 miles round trip! I'd love to use some of that gas for a few rides up into the mountains around here. Will check in later. Last night I couldn't get in to the forum one way or another. Today, No issues?? Go figure, Dan |

You are never going to believe this...I was cutting in the green so i could use the roller to paint the cabinet facings and i saw the ceiling move up a inch as i had my other arm there for stability. They didn't tie the cabinets in to the beams above the ceiling!!! I found the beams and screwed them together but i cracked a couple of screws right out of the wood uprights and facia boards. I am going to use 90 degree steel angles to put the cabinets back together. great!! Wonder what else they screwed up?? |

Wallaby Dan--Good to see you are still going strong. Lost everybody a few months ago. The web site went blank and I looked all over and couldn't find anyone. Today by chance I came across the site again. Had a knee replaced in Jan and now one at the end of the month. Thank heavens there are not anymore. Thought you would have the train finished and the motor home too How has you and your wifes health been? Steve/moms ruin. |
