I want to take out the barrel chair nearest the cockpit, and put in a desk. Is that feasable? How do you remove a barrel chair? Tracy 1989 345

Not a problem at all.  We have removed that chair and the little tv cabinet and installed a larger cabinet for the flat screen tv with storage under it for our vcr, dvd, and satellite reciever.  Only have the chair by the door now.  Lots more room!

The chair is fastened to the floor with four bolts through the base and with nuts under the floor.  You will need to slide the battery drawer out to get at the nuts.  Be sure to plug the holes when the bolts are removed.  Pretty much takes two people to remove the nuts and bolts.

Yes, we removed both of ours and replace it with an entertainment center

Thanks! Hmmm...I wonder if we can do a combo desk/entertainment center...Then we'd have a place for our collecting reference books. Cooperhawk - Did you have that DVD/VCR thing up above?

Nope.  All we had was a small console with a very small tv inside.  Nothing up above.

It would actually be easy to combine a desk and cabinet.  We moved the barrel chair by the door to give us more room coming in.  You could certainly build a cabinet with a desk on the end where the barrel chair could swivel into it.  Maybe even a smaller office type swivel chair.  Then you could also use it for one more table when entertaining.
