I don't know about the Alllegros, but I have a Sporcoach with an Onan 4.0. When the main fuel tank gets below 16 gallons the generator automatically shuts off. The first time I ran it, it shut off and I thought something was wrong with my generator, then I found a manual online and it explained that the generator automatically shuts off when the tank gets below 16 gallons of fuel so you don't run the tank dry and become stranded.

AGREED: i have a 35gal main tank and it has to be at or over 1/2 to suck fuel...guess to make sure that while camping you dont use all your fuel for genset and then get stuck out somewhere. I disconnected mine and mounted a new boat tank from wally world in rear trunk...works great...

This is a safety/warning feature!! It keeps people like me who day dream a lot from letting the fuel tank get too low and you run out of gas!! so if you are running the gennie for AC while you are driving and the gennie turns off,,, look at your gas gage and find a gas station quick!!!

I'm not an onan expert by any stretch but i have worked on mine a good bit. one of the important things i do with mine is to make sure their is no load when you start it up and let it run for a few minutes to warm up and steady out before starting to add load to it. what i usually do is check the oil then go inside and start it and let it run for 4-5 minutes. then i add in amperage loads slowly like i start with just the fans on my A/C's then let it run for a few more minutes like that then i'll add either the heat or a/c to it and let it run a bit longer. eventually i have enough on that it is close to the max output of my 6500 watts i'll take away a few apms by shutting off something small and let it run like that for about 20-30 minutes then i shut everything off one by one and let the Gen set run at no load for a few minutes to let it cool a little then i shut it down. I do this once a month and it seems to keep it in operating condition doing this. Feel free to message me with any questions i might be able to help with.

Your unit probally has the normal two safety shut offs on it. If the gas in your motorhame goes below a set limit your generator will not start or if running will shut down. The other safety is the low oil shut off which works, you hope , when the generator is to low on oil. Also it you are not getting power to the coach with the generator runing there are two circuit breaker on the generator that may need to be reset. If you reset the breakers and they pop off two times it is best to seek professional advice or get your weenie sticks out because you going to have a fire.

would assume then that the end in the fuel tank has a clogged sock on it. on my holiday rambler i have an electric pump that feeds to my mechanical fuel pump for the engine. and a seperate pickup in the main tank and an electric fuel pump on the generator which is a 6.5kw onan. have you removed the fuel cap and tried to blow back through the line?
