Today I visited my local dealership - Tom Stinnett RV. I had a chance to tour some of their higher end motorhomes. Newmars and Tsunami and Holiday Ramblers. Not the little stuff....the BIG stuff. 45' long with tag axles, big CAT engines. I have to tell you - they are nice...really nice. And they have that "new motorhome smell" not the "what is that smell" I have in my sweet little 345.
I often think about owning a new rig someday (alright a "newer" rig). There is an appeal in all of the dodads and gizmos and plasma TV's in the W.C.
One my way out of a coach I looked at the sitcker on the window. It read $486,788. Man I love my 345.

i wouldn't trade my new 1979 excella for one of the big new rigs which have no personality. i loves airstream motorhomes when they were new and i love them even more now. somehow i just can't see the ones being built today as being as loved in 30 years as our vintage airstreams are both then and now. i couldn't be prouder of a new fancy motorhome as i am of mine!
I don't have any solution, but I certainly admire the problem.
